DIY: Wrapping Paper & Ribbon Ornaments

Got a lot of wrapping paper and a little booze? Press pause on your frenzied holiday prep for a relaxing round of crafting and cocktails. If you're like me, you always buy too many rolls of wrapping paper and end up with pieces that aren't big enough to wrap a gift but too small to throw away. Use those extras to create fun, fabulous baubles for your tree! And if you need a last-minute gift, just pluck one of these babies off the tree. It's already wrapped!

Wrapping Paper Leftovers Ornaments

  • You Will Need:
  • paper mache or smooth styrofoam balls
  • wrapping paper and tissue paper scraps
  • ribbon
  • craft punches
  • craft paint
  • decoupage medium
  • hot glue gun and glue sticks

  • Method:
  • 1. Paint balls in desired color. Let dry.
  • 2. Using a craft punch, punch out designs from scraps of wrapping or tissue paper.
  • 3. Adhere punched paper designs to painted ball using decoupage medium. Let dry.
  • 4. Wrap ribbons around balls for placement, remove ribbon and then using hot glue gun, dot hot glue onto ornament and press ribbon onto glue to secure to ball.
