Just finished taping today's Chew. Had a blast telling embarrassing stories with my buddy Chris Fowler of ESPN.
There's room in your life for colored denim, black denim, maybe even some distressed denim. But start with a dark navy. You already have a pair? Great. But if the knees are at all worn from wear and tear, it looks sloppy. A pristine pair of jeans is polished, classic and appropriate for denim-friendly workplace when paired with a blazer and blouse. Remove the jacket, add statement jewelry and throw on a hot heel for a night out on the town.
A Colorful Cocktail Dress
You can't spend your life in a little black dress. Be sure to have at least one bright dress for occasions that call for celebratory colors. The holiday season is exactly that occasion. The right dress can take you from day (worn with a cardigan and ballet flats) to night (take away the cardigan and add metallic, studded or animal-print heels).
A good bag doesn't really go out of style and it makes your whole appearance pop, so think of them as investment pieces. A fun clutch can easily go from day to night. Metallics are neutrals so they go with everything no matter the time of day. Just opt for a solid bag with little embellishment. Animal prints are also an eye-catching option.
