- And by that I mean, a smoky eye created with black eye shadow. If you’re like most women, drawing on a cat-eye with liner is a challenge and this is a great solution. “It’s an intense look, but it’s effortless,” says Amick. Black works with every skin tone, and because the shadow is applied and blended in, you really can’t screw it up. “Apply it with your fingers to gently add just the right amount of color,” says Amick.
- Get it right: Especially if you’re taking your smoky eye out on the town, make sure you use a waterproof shadow (and consider an eye primer first). “Otherwise, it will run down your face,” says Amick.
