Turn Your Halloween Candy into Caramel Apples

There’s nothing quite like a perfectly crisp apple—especially the initial pierce of the skin and subsequent release of that sweet apple juice. Now imagine that treat covered in ooey gooey caramel. And leftover Halloween candy! Oh, you know you want it right now. In fact, I may or may not be covered in caramel as I write this.

Halloween Candy Caramel Apples

Ingredients

  • 6 apples (I like Pink Lady and Fuji)
  • 1 (14-oz.) package of individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp. milk
  • White chocolate or any crushed up candy – a great use for Halloween leftovers

Directions

  • Remove the stem from each apple and press a craft stick into the top. Butter a baking sheet.
  • Place caramels and milk in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave 2 minutes, stirring once. Allow to cool briefly.
  • Roll each apple quickly in caramel sauce until well coated, then sprinkle with candy. Place on prepared sheet to set.
  • Melt white chocolate in the microwave, then drizzle slowly over caramel-covered apple.
