The Easiest Summer Host Gift: A DIY S'Mores Kit

Something about a sultry day makes you want to cozy up to a guy with a a really big… beach house. But if you want to keep getting invited back all the way through Labor Day, I have two words for you: Host Gift. (What did you think I was going to say?!) This S'mores Kit will do the trick—a sweet treat that’s suggestive of late nights and as easy to enjoy in the microwave as it is around a campfire.

S’Mores Kit

  • Materials
  • Graham Crackers
  • Marshmallows
  • Paper Treat Bags
  • Chocolate
  • Dish towel or bandana
  • Twine
  • Stick

  1. Repackage four graham crackers and four marshmallows in treat bags.

  2. Wrap them, along with the bar of chocolate, in the dish towel and secure with twine. Loop the sticks through the handle.

P.S. Go with your gut on your host’s taste level: Use artisanal versions of your ingredients for a fancier lad (we like to add a spark with chile-infused chocolates) or grocery store staples for your average Joe.

#fbf to 1994 (ish) with my buds, @richardwiese and @wendirogerstv Bought that sport coat on sale for about 20 bucks because that’s all I had in the bank. Was 10% wool and 90% “other.” Got caught in the rain with it and smelled like wet dog ass all night.

Nine years ago, I made a vow to live my life based on three guiding principles: Love, Awe and Gratitude. Today, instead of feeling sad, angry or anxious about The Chew’s cancellation, I will look through the lens of Gratitude and thank: My cohosts, @chefsymon and @carlaphall, for being two of the greatest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. The crew and staff of The Chew for being so dedicated, hardworking and collaborative. Our viewers for allowing us into your homes each day to share a laugh and a recipe — and a cocktail. It’s been a fun run and I am so freakin’ lucky to have been a part of it. Much love, CK ❤️
