3 Fall Trends That Look Great on Everyone

Fall is the season when fashion gets rejuvenated, but as you know, I don’t believe you should jump on every trend that’s out there. Here are my three picks for the most wearable trends for fall—plus tips on how to incorporate them into your own wardrobe.

1. Turtlenecks

I’m loving turtlenecks this season--they're easily the most versatile piece in your fall repertoire! There's tons of perks to this classic silhouette. First, let's talk lines. If you're having doubts about your new high-rise denim, pair them with a turtleneck: It instantly elongates your torso. Plus a turtleneck layers easily under sweaters and dresses for a mod Parisian look. Magnifique! Striped Tissue Turtleneck T-Shirt, $45; jcrew.com

2. Moody Florals

Yes! There are floral prints that don't scream, "Can I have another frozen pina colada, please?" This fall, embrace a dark, moody floral print. By design, floral prints are inherently feminine, but when the print is grounded in black, navy or wine-inspired tones, like this one from my Kelly by Clinton Kelly collection, it becomes sophisticated and mature. Find a print you love and make sure the scale and repeat is right for your body type. Kelly by Clinton Kelly Hidden Placket Top in Midnight Floral, $58.75; qvc.com.

3. Capes

Here’s a trick: When you wear more volume up top, your bottom half looks smaller. So if you’re insecure about your hips and thighs, a voluminous cape that drapes smoothly from your shoulders to hips can give the illusion of hourglass proportions. Plus, it’s a great layer over a bulky sweater: Instead of being stuffed into a peacoat, you’ve got the warmth but still got movement. Marled Knit Cape, $47.80; forever21.com

3 Fall Trends For Everyone

#fbf to 1994 (ish) with my buds, @richardwiese and @wendirogerstv Bought that sport coat on sale for about 20 bucks because that’s all I had in the bank. Was 10% wool and 90% “other.” Got caught in the rain with it and smelled like wet dog ass all night.

Nine years ago, I made a vow to live my life based on three guiding principles: Love, Awe and Gratitude. Today, instead of feeling sad, angry or anxious about The Chew’s cancellation, I will look through the lens of Gratitude and thank: My cohosts, @chefsymon and @carlaphall, for being two of the greatest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. The crew and staff of The Chew for being so dedicated, hardworking and collaborative. Our viewers for allowing us into your homes each day to share a laugh and a recipe — and a cocktail. It’s been a fun run and I am so freakin’ lucky to have been a part of it. Much love, CK ❤️
