A Lower-Calorie Margarita Punch for Your Next Girl’s Night

Think you have to buy over-priced drink mix to make a lower-calorie cocktail? Think again. You can substitute a few ingredients on your own to get the same "skinny" result. This punch tastes just like a margarita, but uses agave nectar and juiced citrus to get that balance of sweet and tart instead of artificial ingredients, so you get all the flavor without the guilt. Whip up a batch for your next girl’s night!

Lower Calorie Skinny Margarita Punch

Skinny Margarita Punch

  • 1 liter silver tequila, chilled
  • 1 c freshly squeezed lime juice, cold
  • ½ c freshly squeezed orange juice, cold
  • ½ c agave nectar
  • 4 c sparkling water or seltzer, chilled, to top off
  • lime wheels, to garnish

Combine ingredients in a punch bowl and gently stir. Serve with lime wedges over ice.

For ice mold

To make a decorative ice mold, fill a clean bundt pan 1/4th the way with water, and top with lime wheels, freeze, then fill another 1/4th with water and limes, and freeze again. Repeat until completed.

Coyote urine. It’s the reason my hydrangeas actually bloomed this year. (Deer repellent.) And after her thorough sweep of the gardens for chipmunks, it’s what Mary smells like right now. #bathtime Happy Saturday!
