Easy Chicken Dippers + 5 Insanely Delicious Sauces

Chicken Fingers: Every restaurant in the world offers them as a kids' menu fail-safe because they’re freakin’ delicious. But when’s the last time YOU had them? Moist chicken on the inside, crispy crunchiness on the outside, smothered in gooey sauce—you drooling yet? Before you head for take-out, make my version. It’s faster than the drive-thru and healthier than the mass-produced stuff. Plus, the sauces we whipped up are insanely good.

Clinton Kelly Easy Chicken Nuggets and Sauces

Better-for-You Chicken Dippers


  • 3 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ c flour
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 c Panko breadcrumbs


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Arrange three dishes, one with flour, one with the lightly beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs. Season the flour with onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper and mix well.
  • Dredge the chicken in the flour, egg, and then breadcrumbs, and then place on a wire rack placed over a baking sheet. Bake for 20-30 minutes, until lightly golden brown and firm, flipping halfway through cook time.
  • Serve with dipping sauces.

Honey Mustard

  • ⅓ c mayonnaize
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Stir together and enjoy!

Yogurt & Fresh Herbs

  • ½ c Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp fresh dill
  • 1 clove garlic, grated

Stir together and enjoy.

Ginger Sesame

  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 scallion, sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ¼ c low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Stir together and enjoy!

Buffalo Blue Cheese

  • ½ c blue cheese crumbles
  • ¼ c milk
  • ½ c sour cream
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Hot sauce

Stir together and enjoy!

A Better BBQ Sauce

  • 2 c ketchup
  • ⅔ c apple cider vinegar
  • ⅔ c light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp mild hot sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dry mustard powder

Combine ingredients in a small saucepot, simmer for 30 minutes; let cool. Yields 3 cups.
