Highlight from The Chew: Grilled Brie with Apples and Jam

A nice gooey grilled cheese is a quick, satisfying meal to whip up for lunch—but it can get a little same-old. My version uses fancier cheese and a few extra ingredients you probably have lying around to make it extra-FABULOUS. Enjoy!

Clinton Kelly Grilled Cheese with Apples and Jam

Grilled Brie with Apples and Jam

Ingredients

  • 12 slices country bread
  • 1 jar raspberry (or other berry) jam
  • 1/2 c walnuts (chopped)
  • 18 oz brie (cut into slices)
  • 2 Granny Smith apples (cored and sliced into round 1/4" pieces)
  • butter (to griddle)

Directions

  • Preheat a grill or sauté pan over medium heat.
  • Spread jam on one side of each slice of bread. Top with walnuts and then lay a few slices brie on top. Finish with a couple slices of apple. Sandwich the two halves together.
  • Place a few pats of butter on the griddle to lightly grease. Place the sandwich on the preheated griddle and cook until golden brown (cover with a lid while cooking to help melt the cheese). Flip and cook until golden brown and the cheese is gooey and melted.

#fbf to 1994 (ish) with my buds, @richardwiese and @wendirogerstv Bought that sport coat on sale for about 20 bucks because that’s all I had in the bank. Was 10% wool and 90% “other.” Got caught in the rain with it and smelled like wet dog ass all night.
