Party Treats: Banana Split Bites

Sometimes you want a little bite of dessert. Ok, let’s be real, sometimes you want to eat the entire plate of dessert, but you know that wouldn’t be fair to your hips. So for the times that your hips and waistline win the argument, make these. Delicious banana split bites filled with ice cream and dipped in chocolate. Serve them at your next party with different ice cream flavors and toppings!

Banana Split Bites

  • Yields about 30 Bites
  • 30 Minutes Active Prep Time
  • Ingredients:
  • 6 bananas
  • vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 12 oz. Bag Chocolate Chips (semi-sweet, milk, or dark)
  • ¼ cup chopped peanuts
  • sprinkles
  • whipped cream, to serve

  • Directions:
  • 1. Peel the bananas and cut into 1-inch pieces. Using a small spoon or a melon baller, hollow out a cup in the cut end of the banana. Spoon some ice cream into the cavity and place onto a wax paper lined tray that will fit in the freezer. Place in the freezer and freeze until the ice cream is very firm.
  • 2. Meanwhile, place the chocolate in a glass bowl and microwave in 15 second increments, stirring between each. Once chocolate is completely melted and smooth, set aside.
  • 3. Working quickly, dip the banana bites into the chocolate, encapsulating the ice cream. Arrange on the tray and sprinkle with desired toppings. Place back in the freezer just until chocolate sets.
  • 4. Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

#fbf to 1994 (ish) with my buds, @richardwiese and @wendirogerstv Bought that sport coat on sale for about 20 bucks because that’s all I had in the bank. Was 10% wool and 90% “other.” Got caught in the rain with it and smelled like wet dog ass all night.
