Peach + Vanilla + Wheat Beer = The Best Summer Shandy Ever

What’s better than an ice-cold beer on a hot summer day? I know: An ice-cold beer infused with peach and vanilla. Our spin on the summer shandy—the basic version is made with beer and lemonade—gives you the gorgeous fruit flavor and picks up on other nuances in the wheat beer for a refreshing beer cocktail. Is your mouth watering yet?


Peach Vanilla Summer Shandy

Yields about 2 cups Peach Puree, enough for 10 drinks


  • 1 lb frozen peaches
  • 1 ½ c water
  • 1 ½ c sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Belgian style wheat beer
  • lemon wedges for garnish


  • In a saucepan over medium heat, bring water to a simmer, add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add peaches and vanilla then simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until peaches are very soft.
  • Let cool, then add the lemon juice, and then, in a blender or using a stick blender, puree until completely smooth, about a minute. Chill peach puree for a few hours until completely cool.
  • In a chilled glass, add about an inch of the peach puree. Add another inch of beer and gently stir to mix, and then slowly add the rest of the beer. Garnish with a lemon if so desired. Enjoy!
